   I'm a fan of dupes, though I won't agree that when dupes are available they're always just as good. Sometimes there really is no substitute for the OG. I sometimes have some self snobbery about the number of dupes I have, but I also have just as many bottles worth $$$. I don't care if other people wear dupes, I just encourage people to explore the dupe brands. Just like any other brand, they will often do some scent profiles better than others. Dupes can make fragrance more available to people who couldn't otherwise experience a range of options. Decants aren't widely available everywhere and can still be quite pricey.

   I know for me I stay away from dupes for the most part. Not because i feel any particular way about the smell but because I know myself. Mentally I would always know I was wearing a substitute. I wish I could get past that hurdle and buy the dupes. It would have been way cheaper or id have a much larger collection. My mind just doesn't allow it and its in everything I do not just fragrances. Saying that I do enjoy some originals that the "dupe" houses have put out.

      I did buy a lot of dupes first. There were only a few that I ended up liking. I did not even put them on my shelf here except for the khadlaj silver, which I do like and sometimes wear. People like it! But there is that stigma. I could afford an LV Imagination, even the Symphony... But not for the daily wear. And let's be honest, how many "special occasions" do we really have? GIT is another example. I love it. I own it. It would be good for regular wear. But I do know the dupes. They are "almost there". And cheap enough. I really doubt that many people would notice anything. So recently, I started diy. My first one came out fine. "Imagination" is waiting. Let's be clear: using good ingredients adds up to at least 100 euros/100ml in edp and takes time... But it's also quite a fun journey so far. I just wish there would be more discussion about this (clones, diy, hacks, layering that creates something unique instead of buying that 200 niche perfume etc). Thank you for your answer!
