1;8 Cineol Anosmia: almost 1/3 cannot smell it!

I came across this by incident as my hubby always said that myrtle just smells like any green leaf. He also cannot smell eucalyptus really. 1,8 cineol Anosmia affects almost a third of us and is the culprit. Some fragrances feature it prominently,(Malle, Carnal Flower)but some others are affected you would never think of: ysl la Nuit de l'homme, Acqua di Parma Colonia amongst them. I feel sorry for those who cannot smell the whole spectrum! Fun quirk: they can still FEEL it. It actually activates a receptor of the trigeminal nerve that detects "cold" temperatures.
