Who do YOU think is actually worth listening to & speaketh the truth? Or close to it?
Oh & don't get me started on the accounts that just post up 'scents that remind me of Jason Statham' or other daft headings that haven't smelt anything they list, just for some clout

I enjoy watching Aaron Terence Hughes, Sebastian The Perfume Guy, Cuba Know and Daniel from Seldomly Often (I appreciate his thoroughness and passion, but need x2 speed on his videos due to all the fluff).

I only have TikTok. I generally don't support AI use, but MilanScent. He's incredibly creative and has put me onto some really unique niche scents. Ofc he has some videos that seem like ads, but overall I like it. Tish/ThatBrownPerfumeGirl. She stands on business about her support of human rights and shares which companies have stopped doing business with her bc of it, and which have not. She also covers a lot of small niche & indie brands. I don't think I've seen her actually have any paid promotion/ ads. TheHermesHippie covers a lot of unique niche & indie brands and is also vocal about human rights/inclusivity, especially in the perfume space.

I also get my frag news from TikTok. One of my favs is actually creepin around on this app! She goes by midnightstinks on TT, and her reviews are VERY specific and evocative. I love her handle on language. I also like notjeangrey and ismellunusual over there as well. I also take in the odd mainstreamer, just to know what’s coming down the pike. I don’t 100% agree with anyone I follow/watch, and to me that’s part of the beauty of this art!

I’ve never had TikTok and don’t do IG/FB/Twitter anymore (Took a break during Covid and never really went back). So don’t watch influencers or have a clue about them. Just you guys here and on r/FragranceStories… so you better be telling me the truth! 🤪🤣

Totally understand the need for it, especially self employed people and the need to promote your business etc. And I’m not anti-social media. I think its great for connecting people, learning new things, especially during Covid. But I’m a nurse, and it was a horrendous time and seeing and experiencing horrendous and heart breaking things, and seeing all the ‘it’s all fake’ ‘it’s actors in beds’ nonsense while you spent that day in traumatic circumstances just wasn’t good.

Just youtube for me. Seldomly often, persolaise, kaleidoscope scent index, scent nick, and the selfish spray. They're all into niche stuff, they're passionate about fragrances, they don't follow hype, and I believe them.
