I’ve loved how this app has provided a window into the ways we scent ourselves as we move through our lives. How do all of you scent your homes?

I have Pura diffusers in my living room, bedroom, and office at work. I have a bakhour burner that often is the best way to mitigate malodorous elements like broccoli steaming or exhaust that’s wafted inside through the air intake (I live on a busy downtown street). I have some treasured actual Mysore sandalwood incense I bought from Mr. Delapp of Rising Phoenix that I use preciously.

In case anyone wonders, I love the Apotheke range that Pura carries as well as Brooklyn Candle’s Pura offerings. Though it may come as a shock to many, I’m ridiculously snobby towards most brands they carry (no, I don’t want my entire home to smell like an Italian cream cake!), but what I like, I like. For bakhour, I use whatever the lovely woman at the South Asian market recommends—I haven’t ventured into fancy ouds or the like yet.

Pura is great, good option variety. I also have incense, primarily japanese plum blossom that I love. A few candles but more in the cozy season. And some fabric spray - portfolio by le blanc. Wow. Now it sounds like a lot 😂 😂

Must be nice! My MIL cannot be around fragrances. Our home is kept as neutral as possible and we have to shower and go fragrance free for our weekly Sunday dinner visits.

Dusk or Three Suns room sprays are our go-to. Thé Cedar (black tea, cedar & amber) & Sunny Citrus Tea (bergamot, jasmine & green tea) are the current picks.

I have a Pura in my office. So far my fave scents are Salt and one I made with Oil Perfumery’s Wood, Sage and Sea Salt dupe. My favorite candle in my house is Himalayan Candles Grapefruit Pine.

  I emptied out one that i didn’t like and “returned” and just filled it with the OP oil. I thought I may have to add something to it but it was fine just like that. I’ve made a couple of others with other OP oil dupes- BalD’Afrique and Gypsy Water. The BDA dupe oil isn’t one of their best so it seems like a good use. Those are both good in the Pura but the WS&SS is my favorite. It would be great to have a source for empty Pura containers and extra wicks. The ones that I used had been subtle scents so it was ok but it would be hard to reuse one that originally contained a strong scent. To make it work, I just pick a code from another scent that I have. The only trick is that you have to remember what’s in your diffuser!

  I like that hack! I’ll bet you can find the wick material or something similar and then cut it to size. Brilliant!
