Hey, fragrant friends!! There is a lot I don’t know about perfume, so this is a genuine question. I’ve noticed that when I am in a car with the air conditioning blowing on me (it’s so hot on the East coast) that my fragrance seems to have almost disappeared by the time I’ve reached my destination. Or am I imagining it? Could it be the heat? Anything that I just wear at home is apparent for a long time!!

All those factors! Heat, direct a/c on your face and sweat make the molecules on your perfumes fly away and dissappear faster than you could think. Perfumes on my grandma's hometown last one or two hours at best cuz there is hot all year around and living without fans and a/c would actually be self torture 😭

You're not imagining it. It could be a mixture of the heat and the AC blowing on you. The hotter our skin is, the quicker the fragrance oils evaporate and the sooner the scent disappears. Perfume applied to skin that's exposed to the elements will fade more quickly than on covered areas/on clothing. I live somewhere sub-tropical that gets blisteringly hot for half the year. What's really helped make my perfumes last longer is spraying underneath clothing. I find that spraying my collar bones, letting it settle for 10 minutes, and then getting dressed keeps the perfume smelling and performing like it's meant to. Spraying the inner elbow is also much better than spraying the wrists, and the hair is a great spot too, as it holds scent much better than skin and it less prone to sweating than the neck.

I'm real curious on this one. Wether a person, a time of your life or simply curiosity, What led you to collect perfumes? O my case, my mom and grandma always had beautiful perfumes on their shelves
